It's an unusually mild evening so I thought we would sit on the patio and enjoy the backyard. The 2014 bottles of Limoncello are corked and in the freezer. I thought you might like a taste with a lemon cookie since we have both already had supper. I don't think this year's is quite as good as last but it is till quite tasty. Yes, it's a very simple process, it just takes a little time, 10 days. Here's the recipe-for-limoncello.
What have you been up to this summer? We haven't properly chatted since very early in May (when I was late for the April cuppa). I know some of you have had unseasonably warm weather. Occasionally when I see a temp in centigrade I'll use a converter to get a proper perspective. Yes, temperatures are all very relative aren't they? For 2013 we only had 23 days at 90 or above. Only?! Our average is 47, I don't know how many we've had this year but it doesn't seem like many. That may be because we have had a run of mid 80s. Sorry, I'm not even British and chattering on about the weather ;)
Have you been traveling? Surprisingly, we haven't. We went to Oriental for Memorial weekend and for the 4th but have pretty much stayed close to home. I was realllly feeling the need to get away and be at the beach so we headed down to Wrightsville Beach for the weekend. We were on the beach 6-7 hours each day and 2/3rds of the time I was in the water, it was heaven. I am headed back down Friday for a day trip with girlfriends...happy, happy, happy. Do you love the ocean or do you prefer the mountains? We are blessed to have both in North Carolina.
Are you participating in Rinda's 2014 photography scavenger hunt? Our crew is mainly sharing on Instagram since I am the only one with a blog, if you want to check them out The ChosenOne is sedwards62, SweetGirl is gfncgirl and SweetNiece is ccb0622. What are you most challenged by this year? For me it's the juggler and birds on a wire.
What are you up to creatively? I seem to be dabbling in several things, quilting, mixed media and cardmaking. I would love to get some pages done for our family scrapbooks, seems like there is a wedding I still need to get in an album! I'm in a craft fair in mid November so I need to decide on what I want to focus on for that. Do you go to the Christmas Markets they have in Europe? They look so amazing, I'd love to go one year.
Goodness, it's getting late and I still have to get in my evening walk. Absolutely, you can join me, just let me grab us both a water bottle!
