One of the items on Rinda's 2014 Photography Scavenger Hunt is *birds on a wire. This is going to be one of the harder ones for me. We don't have above ground wires in our area and generally when I do see them even if they have birds on them I am driving. Yesterday for Abi's monthly meme *One Word, Twenty Words I shared this photo I had taken.
Looks like a bird on a wire, doesn't it? But, it in fact is not, it is a bird on one of the ropes on our hammock in the backyard. So, I will continue to look for above ground lines, hopefully with birds on them and hopefully where I can get a photo.
I really do think this would count,Beverly.
ReplyDeleteIt may have to if I don't catch another :)
DeleteI wondered if it was a clothes line!
ReplyDeleteclose ;)
Deletedefinitely counts.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo - so neat that you captured the bird before it flew away!
ReplyDeleteThat made me pretty happy :)
DeleteIt is a kind of wire so I would count it! I thought I would struggle too, then we took the dog on a countryside walk and there were overhead wires - with birds on. Thank goodness I had my camera with me!
ReplyDeleteI think for me having the camera and not being in a moving vehicle when one is spotted will be the real test, congrats on your capture!
DeleteWhat a fun two day pairing. It had never occurred to me that there were places without over head wires nearby, but I have definitely learned that this year!

It drove me nuts when we took the boys to Canada, so much pretty architecture and I could never figure out how to work around all the overhead lines.
DeleteGreat photo and I didn't realise it was not a wire!
ReplyDeletelol trying to play honest ;)
DeleteI have two sets of overhead power lines on our property. But birds are not at all interested in sitting on them. I think they have too many other options with all the trees around.
ReplyDeleteI had a brief opportunity twice while I was at mama's but by the time I had my phone out they flew away @@
