Time for Tea

Hi, I'm so glad you stopped by before the humidity got too high or the daily thunderstorm started up. I know you said you wanted to hear about the wedding so I thought we'd have our tea in the dining room and use SweetGirl's china. All their wedding presents came here for practical purposes. They will be moving next winter (they hope) and have decided to store all their gifts in our attic. When they move into their new home they will fill it with their gifts. SweetGirl loves hot tea and china so she has kept one cup and saucer out to have at home so she can see it and enjoy it. They are buying china storage pieces this week so this is your peek at it. She chose a gorgeous and timeless pattern in my opinion.

I used the Blueberry tea for you and of course sweet iced tea for me. I also have some macaroons I found at Trader Joe's, they are gluten free so great to have in the freezer for SweetGirl.

How are things in your world? Do you feel more relaxed now that summer (winter) is here? Do you have any plans for the break? We are pretty much in laid back mode until football season starts in late August. We have a few things to do but nothing that requires planning. We bought Megatickets this year after skipping last year. There are 9 concerts this season. I missed the first 3 (Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney and Brad Paisley) for wedding celebrations (so worth it) but am looking forward to there being 2 in July.

We talk about the music we adored as teens and how our musical taste has changed over the years. You find it amazing that I tend to choose silence when it's just me and Pearl.

I am in search of creative inspiration and want to know about your current projects and if you are taking any classes. I am taking a Kristal Norton art journaling online class that is free. I have taken one (or two@@) before but have never stuck with it or given it the time I should have. Hoping this freebie gets me going. In July I am taking The Phone Photography Project over at Big Picture Classes. It doesn't start until the 1st and last all month so there is still time to jump in. Are you using Instagram?  I thought it was mainly a young people thing but had friend's pics I wanted to see so have joined and am enjoying it. I'm neusebrats, let me know your IG account name and I'll check you out.

Would you like to go in the backyard, the skies seem to have cleared and are blue with clouds.

Ahhhh clouds!?! Do you see things in clouds? Did you lay on the grass a lot as a child finding dragons and fish and   all sorts of images?  Cloud reading is vexing me!!! OHHHHMMMYYYYY GOSSHHHH I see something! If you see it don't mention it on the blog, I have a plan for it!!

Rinda has clouds in the shape of something as one of the items in her 2013 Summertime Photography Scavenger Hunt. I've been hunting but haven't seen anything yet or I start to see something but I am riding in a car and it's gone. Tough art cloud reading. How cool is it that when I uploaded a pic taken very quickly an image immediately captured me?! The Hunt isn't over until September 21st so you have plenty of time to join us, click here.

There will be a linky to showcase the month of June this weekend. It makes you so much more aware of the things you generally overlook. It's amazing how many cool benches I have seen and shhhhh I found a windmill but I am not telling where just yet. The Chosen One has been convinced to give it a go and I am hoping SweetGirl will. They will have to discover the windmill themselves.

Sorry I got distracted, leave the dishes I'll clear them later.
Let's go out the back way so you can hear my silence.

lol  You're right we do have a lot of songbirds. They all seem to be pretty oblivious to us at this point. I can sit right here a few feet away and nature performs for me.

Ahhhhh isn't that breeze heavenly?  Absolutely, bring a book sometime and climb in the hammock even if we're not home. It's a wonderful escape. I'm so glad we found time for each other today, I've missed you. If not before, drop by the end of next month, our cup of tea will have a more Southern and American spin to it.

Time for Tea is a monthly meme hosted by friend, Abi. Pop over for some more tea and chats. We'd love to come by your place, just leave a link over at Abi's in the next week leading us to your related post.

  1. What a lovely visit! I feel like I got to know you a bit better today. Stop by Monday for cappuccino and a chat. I love china. My son saw Tim McGraw and is considering going to see Brad Paisley and Kenny Chesney.

    1. How lovely, I had nothing planned for Monday :) Does Henry love guitar riffs? Brad Paisley is one of the best guitarist around and plays very long riffs in the middle of some songs. He also is behind all the video and animation that plays behind him. I loved it the first year, the 2nd was okay and it was the one concert I wasn't disappointed to miss this season. Kenny Chesney is a great entertainer, always a very fun show!

  2. Such a nice visit! I'm taking that photography course as well & I think Havoc may join me. I haven't been to a concert in years. Sometimes I am sad about that and sometimes all I can think is "they are so loud and after all day with the demons I can't face more volume." Lovely china!

    1. I only go to concerts where we can get lawn tickets and try not to sit where the fans are already smashed at 7:00. I'll be at the river for the first week of the class so I'll be forced to do it all by phone. I don't really love blog reading, etc on my phone but it'll have to do.

  3. What a lovely welcome Beverley - and I so enjoyed our chat this afternoon. I love pretty china - and so admire that tea cup and saucer. I wonder if I too can find a momemt for tea - or coffee or even a glass of the hard stuff - with Abi? Perhaps - thanks for pointing me in her direction. Jen x

  4. There is no doubt that a cup of tea tastes so different out of a 'proper' china cup. The style they have chosen is lovely, classic and stylish.
It is so nice to see different species of birds in your garden. How I would love to bring my book and laze in your hammock listening to their song in the warm afternoon sun!

  7. I do love the china and I think it's cool that your sweet girl kept a tea cup and saucer out to enjoy! Your backyard looks lovely, and oh how I would love to have some time in your hammock in a cooler climate right now!

I'm having a tough time with the cloud in the shape of something too! If I make it through the end of summer without tripping over something or crashing my car while looking at clouds it will be a small miracle!

    1. We are in the 90s and have about 85% humidity but in the hammock in the shade of the crepe myrtles might feel like an oasis to you this week. Last night on the news they said Arizona would be in the 100s for the next 7 days, so sorry.

  11. I can hear your wonderful accent in your words! We visited friends in Atlanta GA and they took us to visit some neighbours who came from Raleigh and I fell in love with the music of their speech. They, on the other hand, kept saying "keep talking, we love the way you talk" so that they could listen to our Welsh accents.

  12. Awww thank you, sweetie! I could sit and listen to a Welsh accent for hours although I have to stay focused to make sure I am getting most of what is being said. I am working on a few international project ideas so touch base with you when I have it all figured out :)

  13. I do love sitting in the garden watching the birds at play, even watchign them from the kitchen window is fun. Those macorons look delish and thank you for sharing them with me. Good luck with the summer hunt, I am also doing the hunt but it is winter for us down here so can create a little challenging everynow and then.
