A Year Later - Closer to Glorious

ummm No this is not me, this is a picture of someone doing one of my quad strengthening exercises

Shimelle's prompt at Blogging for Scrapbookers today was something I would have never thought about doing. go back a year in your blog and see if anything on that post topic has changed. I was shocked I actually had a post on April 6, 2010 and things, thank my dear God have changed! The post was written a month post surgery on both of my knees. The pain had been horrible for 6 months but the last month was totally debilitating. In the post I share that I am waiting on being glorious, that I was disappointed that I wasn't much improved. It was to be the first day of physical therapy so i am not sure what I had hoped for. Starting April 6th I did 2 solid months of PT with an amazing therapist and her aide. I worked my tail off in that therapy room and did a considerable amount of work at home. Things improved but I still up until the last few weeks have walked like a person with knee issues, had discomfort and at times a goo d bit of pain. I don't know if it's the warmer weather (which is a boon to my soul) but the last few weeks I have felt much better! I continue to walk a minimum of an hour in the pool 3 times a week and do exercises to strengthen my quads and hamstrings throughout the week. The doctor had said 6 months to a year so maybe I was just impatient all I know is that I am much closer to glorious than I was April 6, 2011.

  3. I was astounded too when I found I'd blogged something still significant now one year ago exactly. Well done on keeping the exercises going, I know from a broken ankle that its very tempting to give up on them.

  6. I hear you because I'm in PT now for my foot/ankle and shoulders both. It's frustrating when you want to be pain-free, and it's taking longer. Good luck, glad to hear you are almost there!!! xoxo

  10. Just popped back to say thanks for the cat litter tip for the wet phone ... we don't have any, though plenty of neighbours do, and failing that I think we have some hamster litter somewhere ... I'll let you know :D
