yummmmy pizza but really!!!!! an 86.5????
While we were in G'ville today we ate at what was our favorite pizza place when we lived there. I had been looking forward to their Greek pizza for days. One bite and my college bound son knew where he would be ordering from next year. It is simply delicious. I excused myself to the ladies' room and when I returned said son and dear? husband were laughing when they looked at me. I told them to leave me alone and be nice having no clue what they were laughing about. Several hours later they informed me that the restaurant had an 85.6 (B) sanitation grade @@ ackkkkk...they found this tremendously amusing because I refuse to eat at many places they fill are acceptable because of the grade. I once read that most inspectors will not take their families anywhere to eat that gets less than a 93 (A)...well what's good for them is good for me! The males in my life especially the two that I gave birth to have no qualms about eating in places with an 82 (B), heaven forbid maybe even a C. So they found it highly amusing that the pizza and even the sweet tea were perfection despite the grade. I noticed some uncleanliness, some ickiness but even told my son not to point out anything to me. I have decided I will believe that the score had everything to do with the age of the building and the condition of the restrooms and nothing to do with anything related to the preparation of my food but I know the next time I am there whether it is 6 weeks or 6 months I'll be checking the score. That said ....doesn't my lunch look yummy?!

We don't have a visible grading system in Australia ..... but, some of the best food I have eaten was in a Vietnamese restaurant - after finishing I realised I'd forgotten my coat, I went back and an elderly family member of the owners was cutting her toe nails at a table to the side of the eating area ... that was yukky to say the least! Despite this, the food was marvelous!
ReplyDeleteThe pizza looks good! If it's a place I really love I'm not sure I'd always want to know the grade, lol.
ReplyDeleteWow.....never heard of this type of grading before......I think in the UK we have stars awarded for the quality of the food.Don't know if grading would put me off or not.....if I loved the food??? Thanks for your lovely comments on my blog.....I think I spend tooooo much time blogging when I should be sleeping.....might explain the bags under the eyes!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah? I will have to think about that one. Taking into consideration it is G'ville and who did the inspections, I'll give it a chance to raise its scores and check it out at Christmas. I still love Bolis!
ReplyDeleteDiane, I told them maybe I would order takeout and they could just tell me it had an A next time :)
ReplyDeleteHow funny...my parents own a restaurant, so I'm the same way, I guess because I just know TOO much about that business...BUT...that pizza sure does look good...
