Have you been waiting? It has taken a little longer than anticipated beacuse we had to get the testing to fit into our schedules (mainly because I wanted the photos done outside lol) When you last saw the limoncello was on day five of its creation, here it is on day 7...
on day 8 we made the simple syrup to add to it and put it in the freezer.
Last night the time had come to see if we had created something wonderful or something medicinal.
First we tasted the limoncello straight like it is served in Italy. Limoncello is a very popular after dinner digestive drink. It was good, not as tart as I expected.
We couldn't remember the recipe Steve at Gravy had told us and there are a ton online. The Chosen One chose three to test out.
Lemondrop Martini A
Lemondrop Martini B
Lemondrop Martini C
So obviously A is the winner! The Chosen One liked A and B but since he doesn't drink them it doesn't really matter. All we need is a thumbs up from sheila and we can add it to the book. I already have posts ready for the next few days so I'll try to get the recipes added to the blog later today..maybe after I take care of that gray in my hair. Have a glorious weekend. The weather is amazing here in North Carolina.
