LET"S EAT BLOG HOP

WELCOME!
You may have gotten here after a visit at Amy's in Victoria, Australia. I love reading her blog, she has a great writing style and creates wonderful layouts.  I'm glad she's on your visit today especially since she is the creator of this great blog hop!!  If you got here from Facebook or are one of my regular readers, I am participating in an international blog hop today that is centered on food...a glorious topic, don't you think? ;)
At the end of this post I will have a link to take you over to Jo, at the end of each person's post you will be linked to the next blogger until you have come full circle back to me or wherever you started. So on to the topic at hand...food, glorious food!

Since this is an international blog hop I decided that I should share a truly Southern (US) dish. Cool weather is teasing us in North Carolina so I thought a nice warm comfort food would be appropriate. Growing up in the eastern part of NC, our barbecue is a part of who I am. It is uniquely ours, so if you've had western NC or Georgia or SC barbecue, ummmmm well in my Wilson County opinion you haven't had the best barbecue. Oh and in the South barbecue is a noun not a verb although I read the verb blasphemy in a Greensboro cue restaurant the other day (by the way their sauce was not good lol) Anyway all that rambling about barbecue (and some educating if you clicked on the links) is to say that when you order a plate of Eastern North Carolina barbecue you also get Brunswick Stew. Now I love me some Brunswick Stew on my barbecue plate but a big bowl on a cool night all by itself is pretty comforting. Regardless of where you live I believe you'll enjoy it. If you need to convert to metric measurements this will help you.So here (finally!! you say) is my contribution to the Let's Eat Blog Hop!

The recipe cards were made using Creative Memories Storybook Creator 3.0 Plus.

If you would like a chance to win recipe cards for all the recipes shared on this blog hop please leave a comment by midnight EDST 10/27. I will announce the winner on the 28th. I hope you've enjoyed your stop in Raleigh, North Carolina but I know Jo is anxiously awaiting your arrival in the northeast part of Scotland. While enjoying her recipe be sure to also look at her glorious photography. Her Skywatch series is a monthly treat! Thanks for visiting, have a glorious day!

  4. Looks very colourful and wonderfully warming, Beverley! Living in a part of a country where to barbecue (verb) or cooking on a barbecue (noun, sorry!) is rarely possible, usually too cold, and will almost certainly involve rain, this recipe will translate well to a nice slow cook inside too!

  7. Hi Beverly
Thanks for sharing such a lovely recipe with us. I live in England where it is now getting very cold. This stew will be the prefect winter warmer. I like the way it is a bit different from stews in Britain. It's a bit more exciting.
