A Ladies' Tea Party

I belong to the Ladies' intergenerational class at my church and it is such a blessing. In recent years I have been immersed in youth Sunday School and in September decided it was time for me to "graduate". I had been very heavily involved in the youth ministry for 12 years so it was bittersweet. The Chosen One had moved into the Men's Intergenerational class a few years ago so the Women's seemed the logical choice for me. It was such a good choice. These women are amazing sisters in Christ.

The church has two other classes for women only and both classes are described as "75+". There are overl 50 women on the rolls, isn't that wonderful?  Those 2 classes invited my class to a breakfast last year (before I was a member) and the class had been planning to reciprocate. Two of my dear friends and I are on ...I don't know what we are lol...the activity planning team?  In our meeting Pam remembered how much fun it was for her girls to make Easter bonnets for school. Well, that jump started us into a brainstorm of ideas! We decided to have a Ladies' Tea Luncheon on Palm Sunday for the three classes. I bought 2 hats so a classmate and I could visit and inspire the women with our invitation. You may remember this teaser from a post last month.

Everyone in these classes was being encouraged to wear a hat and even gloves to worship that Sunday. I have to admit I didn't know men liked women in hats but if the compliments Candy and I received going to and from those classrooms was any indication, they are very much appreciated.  I did find out in that very short time that hats are hot!!

After a simply gorgeous performance of the Easter Cantata 34 Christian sisters joined together for a lovely lunch , fellowship and storytelling time about our hats. 

  

As some of the small town southern newspapers used to say "A good time was had by all!"
