Melt a stick of butter in the pan. Slice one lemon and layer it on top of the butter. Put down fresh shrimp, then sprinkle one pack of dried Italian seasoning. Put in the oven and bake at 350 for 15 min. Best Shrimp you will EVER taste:)

I had to go back over 20 "likes" before I gave up on Pinterest giving me the source to credit. Every "like" led to the person that had liked it before them. Finally I just googled "shrimp. lemon slices and Italian dry mix" Boom! There it was :)

Italian Shrimp
my creative name for the dish ;)

ingredients: 1 pound of fresh shrimp (or thawed if you have to use frozen)\
1 stick of butter (unsalted)
2 lemons
1 package of Italian dry salad dressing mix

Support the NC seafood industry and buy shrimp that is preferably from NC but definitely the US not Asia!! I grew up watching the shrimp trawlers go up and down the river. You could pull your boat up (when the nets were up!!!!) and buy straight off the boat. There are so few these days :(  Okay enough of a digression.

Preheat oven to 350 (F)
Line 13x9 pan or dish with foil.
Cut butter into pats onto pan, place in oven to melt butter

Meanwhile shell and devein your shrimp.

Slice lemons and lay on top of melted butter

Lay 2-3 shrimp on each lemon slice

Sprinkle Italian mix over shrimp ( I may have been a bit heavy handed,
the final product could have been less salty)

Place in oven for 15 minutes

Looking good at 10 minutes

but even better at 15!

YUM!!!

While the shrimp were cooking I cook linguine.
I poured the pan drippings into a bowl.

I tossed the linguine in the drippings then thought I needed to improvise :)

ohhh that might be perfect

did I measure...of course not, I'm not into that lol

cracked a bunch of black pepper as an extra too

I served the Italian Shrimp in individual dishes over the linguine
with a garnish of lemon slice

Too much for my personal preference so I plated mine
on a pretty new blue plate I had bought that day.

The Chosen One and I both gave this dish 5 stars,
without the cheese and Parmesan it would have probably gotten a 4
but hey, that's still pretty amazing.
With the cheese and pepper it was .......

glorious!

What have you been inspired to create this week?

  2. Wow, that looks amazing! I'm not sure what Italian Dry Salad mix is, but I am sure I could improvise. I bet the pasta coated in the pan drippings was delicious. Oh boy, I'm hungry!

  3. I love that photo of the lemon slices - so effective as a base for your topping! As a veggie, I might have to do some creative substitution, but thank-you for the inspiration. :)
