Can't Find the Words Yet

Most of the day I have been trying to figure out how I want to post about hurricane Irene. I still haven't figured it out. I am a bit exhausted and fragile feeling. I did want to do a short post to say we are all fine and our home here is fine. Many of you know my family has a place on the Neuse River that we all gather at with room for all of us without being up under each other. It is the place that renews me.We have weathered many hurricanes and nor'easters but the "I"s seem to really, really get us.

                                                                            IRENE

There are things that have brought a smile to my face and lightness to my heart:
The little boy (maybe 9 months old) dedicated at church yesterday. He was having a good time waving about his arms and kicking his legs then when the minister charged the parents with their responsibilities, he turned his head to her and watched her intently throughout the whole thing! He was adorable.
The hugs, concern and prayers from so many in my real world, Facebook and online. (thanks, Amy for dropping by and leaving a comment to check on us)
The offers of physical help, so greatly appreciated but this time even we will not be able to do the rebuilding, it will take machines and a crew.
Reading the Sweet One's sister's FB page. Her children's comments over the last few days have made me laugh.
Winning not one but TWO blog giveaways. I won the Pass the Book for the copy of  One Day at jimjams and also won candy for Mel's blogiversary giveaway over at ispeakmelsh
Knowing that we all are going to be alright...which means I am now weepy so will sign off with a song that Hope shared yesterday. I'll be telling our Irene story in the next few days.

love,
me

  7. I hadn't realised you were in the path of Irene, but am so relieved that you are safe and well. The news footage here shows so much damage that was done and I hope you are able to rebuild the damage to the family home as soon as you feel able. Thinking of you x

  9. Oh Beverly, I'm so glad to hear everyone is ok! So sorry to hear about the river place. I'm from the Texas coast and my family went through both Hurricane Rita (2005) & Ike (2008) and while their homes were ok, there was still so much involved in recovery. My prayers are with you and your family.

  12. Praying!!! Just today I found myself saying 'it will all be alright' many times. And it was in that space that the Lord showed me so many of the gifts He has been showering on me (none of them related to my 'concerns'). Praying for His peace and strength and comfort and that you will know above all else that you are loved and not alone!
